Community Service & Leadership Award Application

This award recognizes and commends students in the Detroit Metropolitan Area for their dedication to community service, outstanding leadership, or sportsmanship.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Student must live in Wayne, Oakland or Macomb Counties and attend public, private, parochial or charter schools and are in grades 6 through 12.
  • Student must show involvement in extra-curricular activities, volunteer work at organizations in their school, church or community, and be in good academic standing.
  • Student must be nominated by a school counselor, principal, teacher, mentor, clergy or community organization.

Notification Process

  • Students will be informed of their selection by email. Please note: There is no money attached to this award. Students will receive a Certificate of Recognition, along with a letter of congratulations.
  • We encourage you to attend Metro Detroit Youth Day 2.026 on Belle Isle (between the Scott Fountain and the Casino) Tuesday, August 11th to receive your award on stage. If you can attend, please notify Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Detroit at [email protected] and you will be given instructions. If you are not able to attend, your certificate will be mailed to you.
